I have many philosophical disagreements with the Obama administration, but I can't help but give him kudos for getting the Ted Stevens case right. I must admit that I was shocked to see US Attorney General Eric Holder recommend that the conviction against the former Alaska Senator be tossed out due to prosecutorial misconduct.
The good news for the former Senator continued yesterday when a Federal judge dismissed the case and ordered that the prosecutors be investigated for possible criminal wrongdoing. This is a reversal that you would expect to see from members of the same political party who are looking to take care of their own, but the fact that these sleazeball prosecutors worked under a Republican administration is just mind boggling. It's too bad that these developments didn't come about last fall, surely Ted Stevens would have held on to his senate seat. Way to go Eric Holder!
