The latest Gallup Poll numbers were just released and it looks like Mitt Romney is surging towards the GOP nomination. He now leads his nearest rivals, Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, by 23 points nationally among GOP primary voters. If history is any indication, this nomination is pretty much a forgone conclusion. The GOP has seen very few surprises after Iowa and New Hampshire. You will start to see the GOP begin to coalesce around Mitt Romney right after he secures the South Carolina Primary this coming weekend.
